The last full day of our tour was a down day. Forecasts for the Plains called for no storms within any area that allowed us to get back to Denver on July 6, so we decided to take a leisurely drive through Nebraska and visit a couple sites. We slept in a bit at Fort Dodge, so we had a bit of a late start. Our primary visit was at the Fort Niobrara Scenic Overlook at wildlife refuge just east of Valentine.

Once we had seen enough of the refuge, we worked our way southwest to Ogallala, where we stayed at the AmericInn by Wyndham Ogallala.
