April 25, 2017 Severe Storms

Stillwater to Shawnee, Oklahoma

We started the day in Enid, drove east then south to Stillwater, then farther south to Shawnee.  Along this route, we observed a photogenic line of storms the developed relatively free of surrounding clouds.  This provided a nice contrast between blue and stormy skies, and the sun even set underneath our storms, providing a nice orange hue.

Our day started in Enid. After watching T38s do touch-and-go on the runway at Vance Air Force Base, we proceeded east.  We did not even leave Enid before stopping for lunch at Braum's on the east side of town.  I always have to stop there when I'm in Oklahoma.  The strawberry malts are wonderful!

We finished the say in Shawnee, where we ate at the Brick Town Brewery and slept at the Super 8.
