April 24, 2018 Storms

Texas

We started the day in Tucumcari, proceded east and southeast to Lubbock (had lunch there) and waited in Post for storms to develop. I looked back on my phone and although I thought I had taken pictures, I had not.  I had taken some video, so I probably just need to get the still captures off my video camera.  The storms were marginally severe.  We enjoyed a couple core intercepts with heavy rain but no hail.  We also tried to get a dramatic sunset shot with the sun dropping underneath the anvil while it was still raining lightly at hour locaion, but storms farther west blocked the sun when it got closer to the horizon.

After sunset, we drove east to have dinner at a bar and steak place in Seymour.  We stayed at a Best Western just north of Wichita Falls on the south side of the Red River.

There were some campground NEMA 14-50 plugs along the route, but the 485 mile route would have required at least seven hours of charging along the way. Our hotel for the night had a Tesla destination charger.
