Shaun and I left his house near Stanchfield, MN about 9:30 a.m. We drove west through Minnesota and South Dakota, finally reaching our target area near Buffalo, SD around 6:00 or so, and our storms were there to greet us. We weren't expecting anything great, and that's about what we got. The scenery was nice, and we took some video of a beautiful high-based shelf cloud. Later, we stopped for some lightning photography.
