May 22, 2023 Supercell
Texas Panhandle
We caught a nice supercell with perhaps a tornado (or maybe just spinny outflow) near Ralls, Texas.
My morning alarm clock. |
Our storm develops just east of Tulia, Texas. |
Storm increases in intensity. |
The storm now looks like a supercell. |
Storms evolve as we take a break at a local farm co-op. |
We saw things looking more interesting and decided to go south. |
A bit farther south, now east of Plainview. A bit of storm interaction is occurring. |
Is this a tornado or just some slowly spinning outflow near Ralls? Opinions differ. |
Farther south, the storm remains a supercell. |
Between Spur and Post, the storm is becoming a bit linear. We let it overtake us. |
We stopped on the way to our hotel in Lubbock to take sunset pictures. |
U.S. 84 toward Lubbock. |
Our route for the day. 297 miles. |
