Wyoming/Montana Forest Fire Plumes
This was a transit day for our tour, starting out in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, picking up some guests we had dropped off the previous day in Miles City, Montana (they could not cross the Canadian border), and ending up in Sheridan, Wyoming. On the way, we drove underneath several large forest fire plumes, which served as substitutes for thunderstorm anvils for the day. Much of the region was in severe drought, and the place seemed to be drying out and burning up.
