October 2, 2025 Auroras
Coleraine, Minnesota
Solar wind conditions were good for auroras, so I went out in the evening to see what I could find. I started out at Peterson Road on the north end of Grand Rapids. The moon was coming up, so I decided to go out to Mount Itasca and try to get some moon-illuminated colors. We were still near peak fall color, and the aspens were turning color now. Most of the trees visible to the north from Mount Itasca are aspens.

| Looking north from the 70-meter jump. You can see colors in the trees. |
| The auroras are fading a bit, but longer camera exposure in the moonlight brings out the trees a bit more. |
