Solar wind conditions became favorable for auroras, and the skies were, unbelievably, not completely overcast. The moon was bright, but I hoped for a substorm that might outshine the moonlight for a bit. I could barely see the auroras against the horizon brightening from the moonlight. Below are two contrast-enhanced photos.
