September 28, 2020 Auroras
Grand Rapids, MN
Another marginal show. The moon was pretty full, but a high speed stream of solar wind made the auroras barely visible. Skies were mostly cloudy, but a brief break in the clouds allowed me to go to my favorite bog aurora viewing spot and attempt to photograph them. Really, these were not very impressive as I had to double-check on my camera to make sure what I was seeing was an aurora.

A pillar of aurora in the center of the picture. I couldn't quite see it without the aid of the camera. |
|
A slightly brighter glow, which I could faintly see . |
