May 7, 2018 Auroras
Prairie Lake, Grand Rapids, Minnesota
The high speed stream of solar wind from yesterday continued throughout the day today, and Bz remained south around -5 nT. That made for good conditions for auroras to appear in the evening. I did some work at home, then I headed to Prairie Lake, which is pretty close to town. I had to work the next day, so I did not want to drive to a more remote location, and I was also tired from shooting the previous night.
I wasn't expecting much, and the auroras put on a better show than I anticipated, so this was a fun evening.
