March 10, 2018 Auroras
Wabana Lake
Within 24 hours of returning home after the Alaska aurora trip (on which we largely busted as far as auroras were concerned), the magnetic field dipped south, and the auroras began to make an appearance in the Minnesota skies. Given the waning moon and late moonrise, I decided to get north of town to avoid the city lights.
I had fun seeing the auroras so close to home after having traveled so far to see them.

What kind of an idiot drives a Tesla onto a lake? Fortunately, the ice is supposedly about three feet thick. |
