November 7, 2017 Auroras
Grand Rapids, Minnesota
A corotating interaction region at the onset of a high speed stream of solar wind brought auroras to Grand Rapids early in the morning. At some point during the night, I awoke to see that the solar wind conditions were pretty good. Not wanting to stay up for too long, I simply stepped out my front door and took a couple shots. The picture doesn't show that we already had snow on the ground. In fact, this has been the case since October 27.
