March 3, 2017 Auroras
Grand Rapids, MN
Another night with the Earth being buffeted by a high speed stream of solar wind. I was busy with a few other things during the evening, and I also needed to catch up on sleep after the previous night's aurora adventures. I decided to go out and take one photograph of what I saw when I got to the closest spot I could drive to. Here is what I saw.
Note the same shooting location as the last shot from the previous night's event. Had I been willing to drive north of town, I would have had much better contrast as well as a chance to view some brighter auroras later in the night.
