October 14, 2016 Auroras
Grand Rapids, MN
Bz had been far south all day after the CME impact from the filament eruption. I had to be at a social gathering early in the evening, but I would be able to shoot by mid evening. Bz went north at sunset, and the best auroras happened just before I went out to shoot. By the time I got to my shooting location, the show had ended, and the full moon did not allow much visibility of the remaining "pulsating blobs". The arc reestablished itself pretty quickly, but Bz stayed north, and the show ended completely.
This is the best I saw after the main show had ended. |
