September 27, 2016 Auroras
Central Minnesota
I did not have much time to shoot auroras this evening as I was driving down to the Twin Cities. It was cloudy at home, so I guess I lucked out. I left home and drove out of the clouds just a little south of McGregor. Once I was well south of the clouds, I looked in the side view mirror to see a green band of auroras behind me. I found a place to pull over and took a couple pictures.

I drove on, and just to the north of Mora, a substorm began. It didn't last very long, but I was able to snap a couple pictures. After I took those pictures, Bz went north, and the auroras gradually dissipated.
