Aurora account
The Auroras
A waning high speed solar wind stream with speeds decreasing from 600 km/s to 500 km/s and fluctuating Bz values briefly as low as -6 nT brought some auroras. I went out briefly to my neighborhood boat landing and took a few pictures there, but I wanted to get north of town, even though the moon was full. I repositioned to McKinney Lake and took a few shots there, but I only stayed long enough to document the auroras. Solar wind conditions did not favor anything more dramatic than what I was seeing now, and there were some clouds moving in.
