The Setup

The skies were cloudy with only general thunder forecast. Since we had no real chase prospects today, we visited Palo Duro Canyon south of Amarillo. We had a chance to see storms after our visit.

The Chase

We had a nice roadrunner encounter in Palo Duro Canyon. After the Canyon visit, we ate lunch at Sad Monkey Mercantile. While we were there, some thunderstorms moved up to our location from the south. We went outside to view them and then drove south a bit to see if there was any structure. There wasn't much structure, and the skies were mostly gray, so we called it a day and drove to Dumas to get in position for tomorrow, which showed some promise in eastern Colorado.
