Forecast setup
The Setup
I was simply driving through the Texas Panhandle, taking a van back from Denver to Arlington with no intention of going out of my way to chase anything. The tour season was over for me, and I had no guests in the van. It was just a quiet time to contemplate the past season.
The storms found me anyway, and I stopped briefly to take photographs near Canyon. I continued to Amarillo, where I had booked a hotel for the night. The storms followed me there, so I went out and took a few pictures. I drove about a mile round trip to take pictures near the hotel. Thus, I'm logging one mile for this chase.
