Texas Panhandle Supercell

May 26, 2001

This was the first day of a multi-day DOW mission. We targeted the Childress, TX area. We were in northwest flow aloft, and there was initial southeasterly flow developing today. Shear was just enough for supercells, and it would only get better in the following days, so we decided to head out for a while.

The storm never did much, but other beautiful updrafts developed, which made for a pretty sight.
